What's Up With the Numbered Reviews?

When I was in high school in 1993, I started keeping a list of all the books I wanted to read. That early list tells you a lot about what kind of kid I was – a lot of beat writers, the Koran, some hippie stuff, plus book by philosopher’s whose work I did not begin to understand. Soon after, the notebook morphed from a place where I wrote down what I wanted to read into a place where I wrote down what I had read. I have kept it up to this day.

This list currently stands at around 800 books. About a year ago, I thought it would be a fun project to write reviews of all these books.. I have posted the reviews on various websites. Now, I will make this the final repository for all of them. The number in front of the book is the place it holds in the notebook. I will be moving forward and backwards at the same time in writing the reviews, so chronology will be confused, but I will note in what year the book was read. This blog isn’t all book reviews, but it sure will make up a lot of it.
